"This Lincoln Park spot settles in nicely in an area lined with unique eateries and late-night nuggets. Ambrosia Cafe is a vibrant, Middle Eastern eatery and hookah hangout catering to trendy natives -- especially of the female persuasion. First the smoothies: Owner Leo Razko boasts that his Mediterranean smoothie (freshly squeezed apple, carrot, orange juices mixed with fresh peaches, strawberries and bananas) and Ambrosia signature smoothie (banana, date, honey and milk) make a statement. The sandwiches have also been a hit with the ladies watching their waistlines, including the veggie Labne sandwiches (yogurt and a choice of bread with Mediterranean spices) and the build-your-own salad option. For those thumbing their noses at dieting, pastries from Sweet Thang are also on the menu. Indulge in fresh fruit tarts, raspberry mousse, cheesecake or the chocolate eclair. After hours (after 7PM), guests may settle into cozy sofas and pillow-lined benches for hookah pipes (11 flavors include strawberry, cherry, banana, orange and mint), kitschy visuals on three plasma screens and free wireless Internet."

This new eatery offers a healthy mix of salads, soups and sandwiches. Patrons can choose to either create their own salads and sandwiches or try one of the delicious house specialties that incorporate a unique Mediterranean flavor, such as the Labne sandwich, yogurt spread served on your choice of bread, with zaatar, tomato, olive and olive oil, heated in a panini toaster. Owner, Leo Razko, has incorporated some Chicago favorites by offering Carol's Cookies, and pastries from Bucktown's SweetThang. Additionally, Ambrosia Cafe has fresh fruit smoothies and juices, freshly roasted Spanish coffee, a wide variety of teas and kid-friendly meal options. Ambrosia Cafe's comfortable seating and inviting atmosphere are enhanced by its three plasma televisions and free Internet access. Hookah is available after 7 p.m. nightly, and BYOB is encouraged. Ambrosia Cafe "is not home and it is not work ... it is your third place."

Betsy Brownnose three cubicles over. Never misses a meeting or a deadline. Always has a smile for everyone. (She’s just so annoying.)
Then one night you caught her at Sonotheque, rocking her Bulga, playing tonsil hockey with some dude in a mesh tank. Oh, well. So much for judging a book by its cover. Another case in point: Ambrosia Cafe. Sandwich/salad/smoothie joint by
day, BYOB hookah bar by night. Stop by midafternoon and you’ll find inviting couches and chairs occupied by webheads surfing for free, sports fans glued to plasma TVs, and gaggles of girls picking at build-your-own salads. Pop in after 7 p.m., and the cozy catchall turns into a chill hookah hangout, complete with pipes burning apple, grape, strawberry, and peach tobacco.

It’s the perfect place to kick back after a stressful day at the office.

And if you bump into boring Betsy from accounting, heck, send over some of your pinot.
